Bought a 3-15x50 with illuminated reticle several months ago.  The illum control knob is piggybacked to the side parallax adj.  The whole assembly was flopping and not operational after sighting in.  I paid to ship it back, and they sent a replacement recently.  I mounted this one on a .308 and shot 20 rounds.  After that, the parallax would only turn between 75 and 150 yards without binding, and the illum only works now if you turn it on and push on the housing; prior to that it worked correctly.  The adjustments worked well and I had no trouble sighting in.  The pop-up turrets are a little on the loose side, moreso after shooting 60 rounds, and pop up easily when putting the gun in the case.

maybe exchange it for one without the light reticle, it may solve the issues, the standard plex and EBX ones have had good reviews while I've seen plenty of issues with lit reticles ones

Nope, mine says Japan. 3-15x50 with trex plex (duplex style). I like illum. reticles but heard of some having trouble with them, so I steered clear, glad I did.
Just recieved it 2 days ago. not mounted yet. Looks good so far. Time will tell.

Ya know the one I had I liked the glass, it tracked perfect and it was a good scope but I would have needed to change my mounts up to make it work better.  With talleys even both turned inwards the mounting space was limited and i could only get it close to where i needed it for proper eye position and thats why i sold it.  If it had been for a gun with a rail and rings it would still be a riding away.

How tight did you tighten down the rings?  If they are to tight they can cause the problems you are having.

Sorry, been offline for a while.  I have had them in Burris Signature rings on both rifles, torqued at 20 inch/lbs, which is in the middle of Burris' recommended range.

The first one, mounted on a .45-70, had the front ring about 1/2" from the turret;  I was limited by a Weaver rail.  The replacement was mounted on a POF .308 with full-length rail, so I was able to center the rings on the tube space.

For Koshkin and supertool73:  From what little I understand of the internal mechanics of scopes, I can understand how too-tight or too-close-to-turret rings could cause a problem with the parallax adjustment if there's constriction or distortion to an area that needs to move.  I don't understand how this could cause a problem with the illum module.  Were you both talking about the parallax knob issue?
