Recap:  3-15x50 illum reticle.  Illum module shaken loose after sighting in .45-70.  Sent it back, they sent a replacement.  Illum module and side parallax inop after shooting on .308.  Sent it back with a request to have it replaced with something else if the illum modules were a problem.

Received same scope back with a note that the illum module had been rebuilt.  Both the illum module and the side parallax to which it's piggybacked are tighter and not overly easy to rotate.  After a box of Hornady FTX shot through a lightweight single-shot .45-70, all seems well.  All the knobs still work and feel the same as they did prior to shooting.

Hmmmmmm.  Don't know if I'd trust hunting too far from home with that one.

I have the same scope, without the illum. reticle. Heard of some having problems with them and even tho I would prefer the lit model I passed and got the standard plex. And after your post I'm glad I did.
Haven't mounted it yet, waiting on a barrel for a new build in 6.5-.284 Norma.
How do you like the scope in spite of the electrical failures?

I have two TR2 Nitrexs, one a 3-15x42.....Very good glass in them and both track well.....no problems with mine.   Seems only negative comments I've read on the TR2 Nitrex scopes concerned them being on the heavy side. not a good choice for a light carry rifle.....and their one illuminated reticle model that had a problem in its switch.

The glass seems fine and the adjustments move the rounds where they should.  I personally don't like the pop-up turrets, which seem to pop up too easily and move too easily for something that's designed for hunting.  Others who have had them don't seem to have a problem with the turret design/function, so maybe it's just me.  I wouldn't buy another one, but I wouldn't have a problem buying a TR1 with capped turrets at the closeout prices.  I'd sell this one, but I don't like to pass questionable merchandise on to someone else.  It will do fine for limited, specific uses on the gun it's currently on.
