About to purchase a Nikon Monarch 5.5-16.5 or 6.5-20 variable scope.

Since most of my shooting is off a benchrest at

100+ yds( 200+ in near future) on paper,

my concern is the size of the target dot reticle.

Is it 1/8 MOA or larger?

Would i be better off with the Nikoplex reticle?

(fine crosshair is ideal but not available)

TIA Docgary

Welcome to The OT, Doc.

I don't remember the size of the Nikon Target Dot. 1/8 sounds right though.

I guess it's whatever you like, but I prefer the Nikoplex reticle to a Target Dot for my shooting.

Here's the Fine Cross Hair reticle in the 6.5-20.

Thanks for the superfast reply!

Now that i think about it, the dot must be relatively

small since it is specified as a target dot!!

My concern was that it could be a MOA size dot for hunting!

Incidently, it's going in a AR15 Carbine!

Since I shoot off a bench rest weight and size are not a factor...

I'm waiting on a 24" precision AR platform for which the scope will be mounted.

Thanks again

PS - anybody have feedback on the time of a backorder...

This will be the first time ive order from here...

Not sure now on dot reticle size, Bro. Can't find anything on Nikon's site either.

I'd still go with the Nikoplex.

Give SWFA a shout Monday to get status on the scope.

Ask for The Optics Goddess.......
