I think both scopes would be on par with each other!... under? on top are user names to identify people easier. the stars are brownie points for # of posts.

I would go with the one that has the wider field of view.

I 'd go with a 2-7 >>>perhaps a 3200 Elite 2-7, Monarch 2-8 , Weaver 2.5-7 .. Do ya really need a 3-9 for shots under 200 yds ??

I suggest you go with the Leupold Ultimate in 2 x 7. That way you will have a better field of view and still have the black powder compensating reticle.
I have one and it works great.

I got the Leupold Ultimate Slam 3x9x40mm scope as it has much more flexibility over the Nikon Omega.

I found out my Remington 700ML max load is 120 grains (newer models can go to 150grs.)

The Nixon reticle is set for a 150 grain powder load only. So, if you use a load other than that you have to use 'guess-estimation' between the reticle dots. Well, if you look at the gap on the Nikon reticle at 200 vs 250 that is too big a gap for me to want to 'guess-estimate" to take my deer ethically.

On the Leupold you change a dial to have the reticle adjust for a 100 grain or 150 grain load! That is much more flexible than Nikon.

In addition, the Leupold has reticle that start at 50 yards (vs. 100 on Nikon) and goes out to 300 yards (vs. 250 on Nikon).

Leupold is made in the USA.

The optical glass of either brand enjoys a good reputation.

So, I went Leupold for USA and flexibility.
