Greetings forum!

Let me first of all excuse my spelling/grammar, english is not my native language!

I currently own a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40 (on a Browning X-Bolt .308w) and i am looking to upgrade to something with more powerfull magnification and bigger/clearer lenses for low light hunting.

Beside using the scope for low light hunting my use is danish hunting style compitition shooting (animal targets ~350 yards).

My eyes is on the Nikon Monarch X 4-16x50 @ 1100$ in Denmark (retail price in DK; 2000$ - scopes are normally way more expensive en DK than in the US)

At the same price i can get:

Doctoc Classic 3-12x56
Zeiss Duralyt 3-12x50
Leupold VX-3 4,5-14x50
Meopta Meostar R1r 3-13x56
Trijicon Accupoint 2.5-10x56

My eyes are on the Nikon because of the (as i have read) very clear lenses combined with the wide magnification range and the tactical turrets.

Witch scope would you recomend for my use?

I was in the same boat you were  a few weeks ago about buying a scope.  I looked at the nikons, Leupolds, Zeiss and Vortex scopes.  All were very good choices but there were differences.  The Nikons didn't seem to have as clear an optics as the rest.  They would get fuzzy around the edges at higher magnificaton.  The Vortex looked good, but at around the same price of the Leupolds and Zeiss (Conquest) I wasn't really ready to try a new brand just yet.  I looked really hard at both the Leupold and Zeiss and settled on the Zeiss.  All of your choices are good ones and the best way, if you can, is to go some where and look at all of them before you buy one.  Just because I chose the Zeiss doesn't mean you will like it.  There may be something in another scope you like better than the others and the only way to find that out is to actually handle one and look it over very good.  I hope this helps.

In my opinion the fact that you said low light hunting, the Trijicon takes the top.  Its heavy but the reticle design with its illumination design set it apart from any other optic out right now. In low light hunting it will make or break taking a shot sometimes having illumination.

Witch Nikon scope (and size) did you compare with the Zeiss?

And does anybody know the difference between the Conquest and the Duralyt from Zeiss? I know duralyt is the new model, and i has overtaken the conquests place in the dk distributer.

No doubt if the Trijicon had a more long range shooting magnification range, it would be the obvious choice. But i'm not shure 10x magnification is enoug for -350 yards. With my bushnell set to 9x at 200 yards i would allready prefer more magnification.

I purchased the Conquest in a 4.5-12X44 with the Rapid-Z 800 reticle.  I was looking at the  Leupold VX-3 LR in the 4.5-14X40.  Both are really nice scopes.
