How do these two scopes compare optically (RESOLOUTION, BRIGHTNESS IN LOW LIGHT}. Also which has adjustments and zero holding? Which one is better with the price difference being no issue? I want to compare a 3-9 x 40 Monarch to a 3-9x42 Sightron.

Adjustments on SIghtron S2 and S3 are among the best out there at any price. Optically both are good. I think Sightron S2 is better optically, but the difference is not big.
Sightron has larger adjustment range (95" vs 55" for Nikon), has slightly larger FOV (pretty close though: 07ft at 9x and 0.2ft at 3x), weights almost the same (0.1oz heavier) and has longer and less critical eye relief.
On top of that I do not think Nikon is known for good customer service. Sightron has a lifetime replacement warranty.
Just my 2 cents.
