Ok this is for a Browning A-bolt 300 win mag.  I moved my old VXII 3x9 over to a .270 I inherited from my grand father and am now looking for glass to put on this rifle.  It does not have a muzzle brake so I am just a little concerned about eye relief.  The two scopes I have narrowed it down to are the Nikon 3.3x10x44 or another VXII in 3x9x40.  The use of the rifle is for some general plinking and Elk.  Where we hunt most elk are taken between 200-400 yds, but there is the occasional snap shot in the trees.  The VXII that came off the rifle is at least 15 years old.

Almost forgot, my budget is only up to 350.00 also, I know this is not a lot but it is all I have.

Thanks
Matt

Look at the Nikon sale that SWFA is running. The 2-7 or 3-9 Monarchs would be great. Save a bunch of $.
