Looking to scope my rifle for coyotes and deer in woods and brush. Wondering if the Monarch 2-8x32 is twice the scope compared to the Prostaff 2-7x32. I don't want to pay twice the price if I am not getting that much more scope. Thanks for any advice.

The Monarch is twice the scope as the Prostaff. I have or have had both.

You know, that said, the Pro Staff I believe has been upgraded lately and it isn't a bad scope for the money.
The middle of the road is the Buck Master, which I have "pimped" on this fine forum since I got here.

I've don't notice much difference between the Buckmasters and the Monarch's.  In fact I think the previous generation of Monarch was in some ways better than the current.  I had problems getting the new version 6-24x50 Monarch to focus.

I also was a fan of the original Monarch UCC. While the new Monarchs are decent, I believe you can do better in this price range.

This just goes to show the difference between peoples eyes. I can't stand the Buckmasters because of the tunnel vision. The Buckmaster was so dim compared to the Monarch I bought 2 years ago. I really like the 2.5-10X42 Monarch. The turrets are also made with better construction than the Buckmasters were.

I too like the 2.5-10x Monarch. Pick of the litter in that entire line, if you ask me.

I'd also recommend Monarch over ProStaff.
I've viewed all the latest Nikons, and like Monarchs over the other models.
Monarchs have a flat bottom under the turrets. Just a personal preference.
There's also the $100 off special going on right now.
Which is why I bought three more Monarchs. Couldn't pass up the savings.
If I was only buying one, I'd probably buy something else.

Believe it or not I ended up buying a Burris Fullfield II 2-7X35. It arrived today and appears to be a great scope. Did tons of research and hope I got one of the best for the $$$

Fullfield II is a nice little scope.

As far as the original question goes, while I m decidedly not a fan of Monarch or ProStaff, I will note that the only Monarch I like is the 2-8x32.
