Hello again Lookig for info on the 1.5-6x42 nikon monarch gold, does anybody have any real use thoughts. How are nikons in the field, service, warr. work etc.Looking for the ideal scope to put on my 300wby.Recent negotiations with the resident domestic engineer have resulted in  budgetary cutbacks. Never the less what scopes are tops in the 600-850$cdn range Also interrested in the bushnell 4200 1.5-6x36

Thanks

If you like this magnification range there are a few nice scopes there with not all that much to differentiate them from eahc other.  In addition to the two you mentioned I would also suggest you look at Burris Signature Select 2.5-6x40 which would be my choice.

All three are good scopes and will serve you well.  Elite 4200 has the least eye relief out of all these so I would hesitate to put it on a 300Wby, but aside from that you just have to try to see them with your own eyes.
