I am trying to determine if a Nikon Monarch 2.5-10x42 will fit on my Springfield bolt action 30-06 without making modifications.  I already have an old scope mounted on extra high Leupold rings and only get about 2.0mm of clearance below the eyepiece when the safety is engaged.  The Nikon eyepiece is 4.0mm larger in diameter so I loose the 2.0 clearance, possibly.  The Nikon is slightly longer and the eyepiece is shaped differently so it still may work if it is mounted as far back as possible.
Would it be possible, on the Nikon Monarch scope, if someone could measure (inches or mm ok) for me from the furthest point of the scope where the front objective begins to form out from the tube (front side of ring if it is as far back as possible) back to the lowest point of the front of the rear eye piece.  I can then know if my bolt action safety will clear.  Thanks in advance.
