I am wondering how the Nikon Monarch 4-12x40 AO  BDC reticle compares to a Bushnell 4200 4-16x40  in quality.I have two 4200 in 4-16x40 and two 4200 in 2.5-10x40 that I really like but dont own a Nikon scope, but have a pair of Nikon Monarch binoculars that are great.

I just bought this scope a couple of days ago.  Haven't taken it to the range to try it out yet but I have peered through my bedroom window with it.  (Not at the neighbors, you perv!  )

It seems to be very clear, with good low-light capabilities and the BDC reticle could be quite handy, but I'm also pretty new at the whole scope thing so my input won't be very helpful.  I have never looked through a 4200 to compare it to.

Personally, I'd take the Nikon with no hesitation.

Glass quality "might" be a little better on the 4200. Pretty close.

The BDC reticle on the Monarch makes it my pick.

4200 is a more durable scope with virtually equal optics. Plus, it has Rainguard. Also, NIkon;'s customer service is essentially non existent.
