My first postExcellent

I went and bought a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40SF BDC Matte Scope for my new Remingon Model 700 .300 Ultra Mag.

Has anyone had or know anyone that has had any experience with this particular set up?

I will be shooting 180gr bullets out of this gun and trying to decide if the BDC works as good are they claim, Thank you for reading and your time!

Welcome to Optics Talk!

Yes, I had the same scope, but with a Nikoplex reticle, on a .300 RUM Sendero. That scope will give you adequate eye relief and should work well with that rifle.

As far as the BDC reticle is concerned, set your zero @ 200 yards per the Nikon instructions and shoot her in!
That's the ONLY way you'll be able to establish where your rounds will hit.

I like the BDC reticle. Hope you will too.

Some helpful links.

Thank you so much! I appreciate the quick response, Of course if anyone else wants to chime in it would also be appreciated!

Yeah I read the instructions twice, with the mag dead on at 200 yards, but I will carry a cheat sheet with me, I like how you can use the top middle or bottom of each circle to get the best and most accurate shoot. Thanks again.

Right, you can split the circles to match your rifles trajectory. I went over this a little in my review with a .308.

Your welcome.
