I couldn't do enough surveys over a short enough period of time to afford a US Optics scope for my new SA M1-A. Had a card for Academy sports and bought a Buckmaster 4.5-14 X 40 with BDC on sale for not a lot of bucks. It is out to the gunsmith being mounted. However, reading some of the posts makes me worry. I own rifles in 30-06 with Zeiss, Leupold, and other scopes, but always wanted .308 with a great scope like I played with in the Army......reach way out and touch whatever. I figured the Nikon would be a stop gap just to get me shooting with the M1-A. Read a few good on line reviews on the internet, and went ahead and bought. However, now after visiting opticstalk.com, a site I didn't know about until now, I am concerned that I may have just wasted some bucks and am now wasting more getting it mounted.
I would love to hear what some folks that have it up and running are thinking. What I have been able to find out from Nikon is that the BDC works best when zeroed at 200 yards, then works pretty close out to 500 with normal variability being produced by powder, bullet, etc., etc., etc. What do the folks firing it think? and yes, I know it ain't the US Optics I want, but it only cost me a tenth of cost of the US Optics, and I hoped it would be a nice stop gap for the next year or so... Thanks for the reply!
