I have a couple of nikon scopes. One with the 250 yd BTC reticle for a muzzleloader and the other is an older Nikon 4-12 X 40 #307598. I would like to get the standard 500 yd BTC reticle installed on the older scope. Is this possible? Also, can different reticles be interchanged on the same scope?

Thanks for your help. OB

I don't think Nikon does reticle swaps, my friend.

Might have to sell the 4-12x and upgrade to the new model.
(I assume the 4-12x referenced in your post is a Monarch?)

I got through to Nikon customer service and found out that the reticles can not be changed or interchanged.
Thats strange to me as it ain't like it was a one of a kind part? But customer service did get the gentleman that designed the BDC system to call me. He explained the bullet drop values for each of the reticles I was interested in. For the Muzzleloader Optima scope with the BDC-250 reticle, the drop down for each circle below the cross hairs is 2, 4.5, 7 and 10 inches. The standard BTC as on the Monarch is 2, 4.5, 7 and 1 inches. Real close together. Only problem I have now is to look up what bullets I'm going to use and plot the tracectory in yards for that amount of drop. Think I'll make up a little chart and tape it to the scope for power setttings, type of bullet and yardage. What do you all think about that?
Thanks for your help
OB

Thank you.

I'm going to chart my bullet trajectories for my .308 too, but I'll shoot them to confirm.
