Guys I was wondering about the Nikon African 1-4X20 1inch scope and the 1.1-4X24 30mm scope. Is there any big difference between the two in construction? I know the 30mm is obviously a little large but I need one inch scopes for the projects I am working on and was amazed at the price difference between the two? One is going on a 9.3X57 Husqvarna that I got with the side mount and rings on it and the other is for a scopless Enfield No4T that I aquired. The Nikon looks like it would work well for both of these. Both rifles will be lite duty to say the least.
Thanks

Does anyone know what the length of the Ocular housing is?? Seeing as how it has got FOUR INCHES of eye relief...I was wondering how far back over the buttstock this thing would be sticking.......

Have you looked at Weavers new SUPER SLAM DANGEROUS GAME SCOPE? Check it out it has an etched reticle (heavy duplex) and a 30mm tube and I have seen it listed for $479.00 and SWFA will price match. It is a 1-5x24 model and Im sure it is optically equal to those Nikons. I havent seen one but would like to try one myself.

Dave,
I am limited to one inch rings on both of these setups. If not I would give the weaver a look.

These have not been out long enough to have a clear idea on how different they are durability-wise. Optically, I thought that the 30mm version was better and I really liked the wider field of view. If you are restricted to 1' tubes, I have a fair amount of mileage with these two scopes and can recommend both: ILya

Ilya,
Yes I am restricted to one inch for a variety of reasons. Which one have you had the best luck with? Thanks
