I just recently got a pair of these off of eBay, brand new on closeout for a VERY favorable price. If the entire EDG line is as good as these are, I'm going to have to start saving for one of their 7x42. Amazing detail in the view. In focus to the edge. Great ergonomics. An awesome neck strap! Just  really well done binocular. It's definitely going on my mule deer hunt in Northern Nevada in October. I like the idea of a smaller optic without losing any performance. In fact it's a performance gain! An impressive binocular.

How are they in low light conditions?

From what I have seen so far, they're excellent. I've seen reviews that stated that the EDG wasn't quite as good as other alpha binos in this regard, but from what I see, they do the job. Again, I think the detail that they bring out in the view, regardless of what the light may be like, is what sets them apart. They are crystal clear edge to edge and when you focus on something, the amazing detail of that thing comes out. I think for hunting they'll be outstanding but I'll know for sure in a couple of months.

I'm not as versed in these things as some of the experts here on Optics Talk, and I read some of the stuff over in the Bird Forum as well. It sort of seems like that once you get to this level of optical performance, it gets down to really nit picking. I'm happy to be extremely impressed by these binoculars and leave it at that. I haven't found a negative thing to say about them as of yet. Believe you own eyes.

The Nikon EDG binocular series is excellent, very comparable to some of the best binos made in terms of image quality. I'm sure you'll be very happy with yours long-term.
