it's a tough call if you are comparing the 4200 elite's to the nikon monarch UCC's.

flip a coin - they are both excellent.

i like the BDC reticle, but it's hard to beat a mildot for paperpunching.

if you are hunting, go with the monarch, if you are target shooting, go w/ the elite 4200 - that's my take.

the target knobs on the 4200 will be better utilized on the range, and the 30mm tube will allow for greater adjustments. great for targets.

let us know what you decide.

thanks

J

they are both quite bright, with excellent glass and coatings.

I haven't been to this site in years!

I'm going to be looking for scopes like these.  I thought they were on competitor.com, but they're not.

What are good sites to shop for this stuff?

Centerfire, I'm sorry I've offended you.

I got my first .22 rifle 58 years ago and I've been shooting ever since.  But my eyes were good for iron sights until I got age-related macular degeneration in the last two years.

So now I'm a scope neophyte.  I know about competitor.com and competitor.com.  Are they about it, or are there better places to shop?

I'm sorry I have to ask such a basic question.

(Take a good look @ #3.)

SWFA, this websites owner, sells scopes for a living.

So here I sit, red-faced.  I always push the advertising off the screen so I can concentrate on reading.

Back in 1932 my ol' Daddy started a sign company.  He always said that a company's name should be immediately self explanatory, then the company would make the most money.  For fourteen years, I had a company and my sign read "HOUR PHOTO."  Guess what we did?    One of my neighbor's company sign read "WHAT'S YOUR BEEF?"  The name was such a smart-ass remark, that I never went in there.  Apparently most people were as turned off as I was.  After his company failed and it was bankrupt, I learned that it had been an excellent butcher shop!

If the logo for this site were "Your-Optics-Superstore," or some such, that would be wonderful!

But now that I understand what the site is, it will have my undivided respect.  (and I want about four scopes!)

So...  What does SWFA stand for?

Hey, you didn't know. No harm done.

I believe SWFA stands for South West Firearms Accessories.
