I'm thinking of getting this  scope. Is this scope a good one.

what are the pro's and con's of it.

If some has bought and used this scope i would really like that imput of how it works and how well it will stand up to the recoil of a big gun.

Thanks

Big

Bigdaddy, I have used the scope in question, (but with a Nikoplex reticle) several times on a Browning 7 Mag.

A very good scope for the money.

Good optics, tracking, and I'm confident the Monarch will hold up to a high recoil rifle.

At least the one I used has.

That said, I dislike AO's on big game scopes.

If that's your intention, of course.

I have no experience with the BDC reticle.

Can you specify your requirements for this scope?

I have the same scope as Cheap, and so far, has held up to the recoil of a 17HMR.

It has fantastic glass.

I feel it is a deal at that price.

I don't feel the need for BDC, but if it was the only one in stock, I'd still buy it.

thanks for the input so far.

I will be useing this for hunting and glassing areas.plas target shoot at 300+ yards.

i have never had an AO scope so i'm interested in how it works on different yards.

100 yards in  and 100 yards out.

It will have the BDC rectical

Probably the best reason not to "glass" with a scope is simply because few scopes measure up to a good set of binoc. -- your just likely to miss more details that a good set of binocs. offer.

Dose the point of impack change when the Ao is move out.

Say i site the gun in at 200 yards 5.5  and the AO at 200 if i move the AO out to 1000 will it make the zero change?

Or dose it just make the image more clear?

So how dose it actually work

Thanks man,

I had not run across that one yet. From what I gathered from all the post is that the AO is for focusing and (should) not change the point of impact.

I just received mine so I now have a lot of testing to do to see if I can get it to work like I was hoping or more or less me to shoot like the scope wants me to.

So if anyone has any good tips just let me know.

Like I said before most of the shots from that gun(300 win mag) will be taken from 75 to 100 yards out if Iím going to hunt a place where a shorter shot is need Iíll take old faithful.

Witch is (a 25+ year old 30/30 marlin. With an old Redfield 3-9x40)

Thanks again

Big
