Welcome, Jason!

Unless NF has very recently added some kind of turret lock I'm not aware of, no.

If you happen to be considering one of the compact model NXS scopes, they are available with turret caps as an option to prevent accidental knob turning, though.

As Ted said, if NF has that option, it is very, very new - and we are unaware.

Nightforce makes a great scope.

I plan on leaving the caps on and only removing them for a long range shot. There's not much inconvenience in that. Even if left off, I don't think they'd turn much under most conditions.

On my NF scopes I have to make a concerted effort to change the settings for E/W. So I do not think that bumping them and changing the settings would be a problem for you. And if you are concerned about someone changing them on purpose that is another matter. But it is fairly simple to check. Once I have my NF scopes zeroed I reset the dials by loosing the allen screw and putting them on the zero mark and use something to color the line at the base of the turret. I do not do this because I am concerned about someone changing my settings but when I make an adjustment on E/W settings I do not have to remember what my zero settings were. And so I can return to my zero very easily. The same would work for you to check if your settings have been altered.

PS they are great scopes and I love all mine. With the only down side being that SWFA does not sell them.

Remember, though... the particular NXS model scope the OP is interested in is available with low profile turrets and scope caps, unlike the higher powered NXS scopes, which are only available with "naked" tactical knobs.

What I meant to say in the last post was IF Jason is interested in one of the compact NXS's, it's available with the turret caps.  He didn't specify which model he's interested in.  I got this thread mixed up with another one and for some reason thought he was planning to get the 2.5-10X32 NXS.

For some reason, I get an error message when I try to edit my posts, which shuts down my internet connection.  Are others having this same problem.

Thanks again Jason

I use a permanent red sharpie to mark one of the white lines at the base of the turrets. Quick, simple and cheap.

FYI RifleDude I do not have any of the problems editing my posts that you mentioned.
