i am looking into buying a nightforce scope. i am thinking of a 8-32 bench rest. is there a difference between the benchrest and the nxs other than the 1/8 moa and the front focal? i have noticed the benchrest is a bit cheeper

starting at the rear ,
the nxs has fine thread and lock ring for adjustment, while the bench is a euro fast focus type, while both are illuminated the bench has the adjustment on the top and is adjustable with disassembly while the nxs is somewhat fixed, the saddle on the bench has a spring loaded erector return spring that works for both up and down, while the nxs has seperate for up and down, the nxs is side ao while the ao on the bench is front-- it has one less lens group that light goes through, (better results), bench weighs less, because of this, the refinement in ao adjustment goes around the front 270 deg. making for very accurate adjustment.

The NXS is a "tactical" scope, made to be rugged as hell, the bench rest isn't quite so rugged.
I've seen MANY NXS scopes on the ranges and at shoots; I see no bench rest scopes on guns that see hard duty. |
