ok, im starting to decide what the gun of september will be. i have just about any gun i will ever need, and then some, but jsut because you can never have to many rifles, i jsut have to have another. was thinking maybe another deer rifle, stainless/syn, since i dont have one yet. maybe another varmint rifle. i bet a model 7 youth in 223 would be real fast to shoulder over bulky cloths since it has a short stock, and length of pull, for coyote hunting. alot of the guns dont appeal to me though. the CDL looks nice, but dont have it in a caliber i really want. the caliber and the gun jsut have to fit, and that really doesnt. so throw some ideas at me. no ruger, savage, or winchesters please.

Well, since you didn't preclude Brownings, might you consider a micro hunter, maybe in .243? Could be a good multi-purpose rifle.Naturally it would require a Nikon. If I could find a Seven S/S w/ a laminated stock I would try it myself. Those knurled bolt knobs can sure scratch others in the gun safe though.

yeah, i was considering something like a cz 527, 788, or micro hunter. and the browning would be topped with a monarch 3.3-10, the 527 a VXII 3-9x40, and 788 VXII 3-9x40. but the weird thing about the micro hunters are that for 223, you can only get it in LH. might look at a medallion, or jsut a regular abolt in 223. im really looking at the 788 at the moment, but  tomarrow, it will be totally different how my mind works.

im actually looking at any, and all opinions, from the .14 wildcats up to the .50's. so any idea is more than welcome. i dont think i really need another deer rifle. so a varmint rifle of soem type. the M2 is a good idea, but im not a rimfire fan, i use a marlin golden 39A for the rimfire shooting i do. i was thinking about the 17HMR, but dont really like any of the rifle. the ruger 77/17 looks good, but its a ruger, and is not welcome in my safe.

meant to say 10/22 mag, or 10/17mag, or whatever it is, since its a different action then the 10/22 some way.

HES THE MAN!!!!!! for the past 15 mins, ive been looking at the cabelas 2004 shooting catalog, and i think im going to pick up a 10/22, ditch everything, use the fajen coffee silhouette stock cabelas co-polymer barrel, volquartsen trigger guard 2000, and none other than a scope form SWFA to top it off. probably the 3-9 EFR.

if your looking for a center fire varmint setup and u handload get an obscure caliber like the .220 swift or the tactical 20 which boasts similar ballis.  also i thought this might be cool to see

ill probably jsut do one in 22lr for plinking. that 220 with a 1:16, or 18 twist with those 35 vmax's loaded hot would be neat, if they didnt melt in the barrel. or the 204 ruger with the facotry 32's, i think the 220 would be faster though.

What about Reington's 700 LVSF? The only drawback is the blind magazine. Check it out Cory. Also, that Magnum Research 10/22 goes for around $650-700. The Remington is available in 17 Rem., 204 Ruger, 223, 22-250, 7-08 and 308. I think they got another winner here. I know you woud probably wish it was available in 50 BMG, but, that would require some serious bolt face mods!!!!!!!!!

HMMMM....

Well why not try a different type of "rifle".... I'm thinking a Beretta cx4 storm in 40 s&w with something like a Trijicon compact ACOG 2x24mm.... Now that will open some eyes at the local rifle range!

Plus I've heard they are a blast to shoot.

Depending on the definition, it could be concidered a "varmit" rifle.
