Ever since I purchased a new spotter (Kowa 77 Prominar) I've been on the hunt for a nice set of tripod legs. There is such a wide # out there to check out, it is virtually mind boggling. I usually gravitate towards top end (or close) stuff, so of course I checked Gitzo's and RRS. Both were very nice with a slight nod (IMO) to RRS. However, they are VERY expensive (more like what Ted would buy... LOL). Then I came across a Canadian company who makes a very nice tripod up in Ontario. They are called Jobu Design, and their tripod is called the Algonquin (TCF-36). All of the reviews were super, and a direct comparison with a Gitzo Series 3 sealed the deal. I bought the Jobu Design. Let me tell you, this is one hell of a nice tripod. It met all of my criteria and, with the currency exchange rates, came in a at very decent price. If anybody wants a super strong, lightweight and durable tripod, do yourself a favor and check this one out. I give this Canadian product a hearty thumbs up.
