So this is my new toy, she was a frankenstein rebuild with all mismatched parts and in pretty bad condition to boot. As such, I didn't feel bad refinishing her and enhancing the aesthetics a bit. 

However, went I went out to shoot the gun for the first time today, I noticed this:

All of the spent brass has this hazy discoloartion along the same portion of the casings. It is kinda difficult to see, but there also appears to be an ever-so slight bulge where the hazy discoloration begins. I'm hoping this is something innocuous and not a sign that the chamber is shot out and dangerous to use. I would hate to have done all that work prettying up a rifle that isnt safe to shoot...Sad

 I think what you are referring to is the portion of the brass forward of the web that gets pressed into the chamber walls upon firing.
 Completly normal as long as headspace is within standard specs. A gauge can tell you that.

Ok, good to know. I have just never seen cases marred up like that on any of my other guns so I was worried it was unique to this one.
