I had some 8foot metal framed wire spools laying around from a job I did years ago.

anyways we decided to build some box stands out of them.
we took and added 4,12foot 4x4 as the leg and lag bolted them into the fram.

This was the start of the floor
trimming the extra off from the floor
this is the roof. use black board and some screws to hold it down. The tarp wrap will keep it from leaking.

The door, after we find a place to place them a ladder will be built to fit.

one and one/half done and 4 more to go .The roof has a 5 inchs of drop for rain run off.

The 8 foot circle has tons of room. there almost to big. 4 people and gear can fit in them and still have room to spare.so far we have less the $150 in each stand.

Yeah, draw a 8 foot circle on the floor. IT is flipping huge. might be able to put him and his family in it.

Good idea, Brandon!  I'm always looking at everyday stuff like that with an eye toward how I can make deer stands/ blinds out of it.

Is the material on the sides a camo tarp?  It came out looking real good.

Looks great. Is it so heavy as to require 4 men and a boy to set up? Perhaps an air hook? LOL, just kidding. The most important thing is that they look very solid (= safe). Good luck. Excellent

Yup its a camo tarp. It wa s big 40x40 just wrapped it around tight. Bent some emt 3/4 around for a window rest. Yeah we used a 20ton crane to built it with. It will take 4 people to stand them up . If not we will put a Lilly in a tree and hoist it up. They worked out nice.

You probably already know this, but tarps on blinds usually won't last very long.  My experience has been that the combination of UV rays breaking down the plastic coating and the thrashing it receives from wind destroys tarps in a year, sometimes less.  Not only that, but if you're hunting in a high wind, deer are often spooked by the noise of the tarp whipping around in the wind.

yeah the ones we have built and used for 5 years are going to need to be replaced in another 3. I agree they are noise but black board and staples fix's that. If they do fade, rip or what ever $30 buys a new one. They suprized me when I started using them on how long they will last and how quite you can make them. there cheap and easy to build so id something happen I aint out to much.

here is another one we built for someone else who like to hunt but don't have much time to do so. Maybe this will help him make some time.
I took my youngest son with me to set this one up for this fello. He rode thru all the fields on the tool box. I think this one blended to the back ground pretty well.

Brandon,
Do you have plans for a workout room built into that stand??  I need a good place for a couple of my heavy bags and some weights.  I wouldn't want to infringe on the kitchen area or the bathroom, though.

the 8 feet round stand do, and are stubed out for a hot tube and full BR. doing this took a little space from the walk-in closets but i'm okay with it. 8 feet round don't sound like much but they are flipping huge.. 4 people could sit in them and never touch (no gay jokes ether FTARDS). we built them so the kids could go and take toys, sleeping bags or what ever and be comfy and have a good time.
