I am in the market for a new scope for my t/c encore muzzeloader. I was wondering if normal rifle scopes would hold up or not. I hunt in a heavy pressure area so the deer do not move until very low light ,so I need something that will pick up light well.

I know a lot of people who use the Burris with the Ballistic Plex reticle on muzzle loaders.  I don't know their exact loads, but you can work it to where essentially each hash translates into 25 yards on a muzzle loader zeroed at 100 yds.

On my Knight Disc Extreme 50 cal. I have a Leupold 1.75-6x32 ( short version, no longer available) with the heavy duplex reticle mounted in Leupold's QR mounts. This allows me to remove the scope to comply with certain states muzzleloader laws. The Leupold VX lll, Bushnell Elite or Burris scopes should hold up just fine, even with the 150 gr max. load that Chris cited for the Ballistic Plex Reticle.
