I want to purchase a new rifle scope and can spend up to $1000.  I want to put it on a 7mm-08 with most shots being in the 200 to 250 yd range.  Also, would like something that would reduce as much glare as possible as my morning shooting is to the east.  All suggestions appreciated.  Thanks

Looking into the direction of the sun is where Vortex lags behind. My Swaro, IOR, Meopta, and Trijicon do better in that regard than my Vortex.

I think it would be pretty hard to beat the scopes on ST's list for this application.

Thanks all.  Now I know which direction to take.  I think I will probably go with the Swaro z3 4-12x50.

Just be aware that z3s have 1 inch tubes, so going with a 50mm objective will most likely require high rings also putting your scope quite high and limiting a cheek weld some.  That is what is nice about the 3-9x36, it allows you to mount it very low for a good cheek weld.

Personally IMO I think for your distances listed 9x is more than enough.

+1 for the Swaro in either 3-9x36 or 3-10x42.

I got the z5 with 52mm obj. on my rem 700 cdl .280.
I have medium tallys. Thats what tally recommended.
It doesn't sit high at all. Enough room for lense caps.
