I have been looking at Nikon Monarch 5.5-16.5 ao and a Mueller 8.5-25 Eradicator. I s it worth the extra $150.00 for the nikon? I will be mounting it on a heavy barrel 223 and shooting mostly in full daylight.

I haven't looked through the Mueller, but I have spent some quality time with a Monarch. Same power as you mentioned.

I like this scope!(The Monarch)

For  varmint type shooting or shooting paper, they are very nice and worth the extra $.

Monarch is worth the extra dollars compared to Mueller.

Another vote for Nikon, Have one in 6.5-20x44 on a 30-06 target rifle, like it a lot.

Nikon is a great value and the Monarch is their top of the line scope. They do make a Titanium version, but I do not think it is necessary to pay the extra price for this feature. If you need more adjustment go with the Nikon Monarch Gold which has a 30mm tube.
