Hello Everyone,
Around 4 years ago I asked for advice on here about a new scope and gun, you guys sold me on a Kimber 270wsm and a Zeiss 3.5-10X44, best advice I have ever received, I have loved this set-up Thanks. I have been overseas for the last few years and am now back home. I just purchased another Kimber 308 to add to the collection. Question I have a spare Zeiss 3-9X40, but I have been looking at the Swarovski 3-9X36 American Lightweight, Which of these 2 would be the best for low light hunting?

Thanks Again

By principle the zeiss should produce more light because of the larger objective lense, I assume that the existing scope is a conquest, being that, I think the swaro will come very close to the ziess because of the better glass.  I still think I would use the existing conquest and apply the funds toward something else.  Just an opinion, many others will follow.

I agree.  Personally, if I had an extra Zeiss on hand, I could not see spending that much extra cash for the Swarorvski, I would buy another rifle.  A Wby. maybe?

I am looking at a Wby. now 257 mag. for which I would put the Zeiss on. I hunt woods and field edges shots from 50 to 175 yds. I have also looked on the sample lists and noticed a Kahles 1.5-6X42 Helia C which seems to be a better choice for low light. What do you think?

Stick with the Zeiss. I just put a 3.5x10 44 Conquest on my A-Bolt 270WSM and I love it. I think you'll do a little better in low light with the Zeiss.
