Hello, I need Help I have just recently bought a BSA Contender, And I was wondering if I should buy the BSA scope mounts that are made for the scope, Or some burrris mounts. The scope goes on a weaver mount on a NEF .308, Which mounts would be better.??? The BSA mounts are 14.95 on BSA's web site and would work perfect. Im just curious if anybody has had a pair of BSA mounts or burris mounts. I want to know If the BSA mounts would be a good buy or te Burris Zee weaver mounts.  Thank you to anyone who can help me .

the burris rings are great. but i like the leupolds more. i wouldnt spend alot of money on rings and bases for that scope, becuase on a 308, its probably not going to last long. (sorry, not meaning to put down your product) i had a contender 6-24x50 on my 270, and after a month it stopped holding zero. and a couple months later the whole reticle broke away. and the last time i went to shoot it (only to get rid of a couple rounds i had left over), the eye releif is so close, it kissed me, and i have a nice size scar right above my nose, so watch out. but back on the original topic, if you are a lucky guy, and feel liek you got one of the FEW scopes bsa makes that dont fall apart, go ahead and get a set of leupold rings. since the rifle comes with a base, make sure you take the screws out and put some thread lock on it, becuase those things are known to shake loose. and i would top that off with a set of high leupold PRW rings.

I have never seen the rings that BSA sells on their site and could not find a picture of them on their site.  Keep in mind that when a manufacturer sells things off their own site that it is a full blown 100% retail because they don't want to step on their dealers toes.  So ask your self what kind of rings you would be getting that are priced $14.95 FULL RETAIL.  If you follow the prices on their scopes compared to what they can really be bought for I think you could get those rings for about $8.

i have a BSA brochure that i picked up from a local gun store, and it shows the BSA rings, to me they look like a waste of money.

Scott, I would take the advise of Chris and Cory. Cory's suggestion on the Leupold PRW's would be a good choice for your NEF. Good shooting!!!
