Just thought I might run this by a few "experts" I have peeled my old Tasco World Class 4-16 off my old Ruger 77 that I use here in Northern Maine for coyotes. I am looking very seriously at a Leupold VX I in 4X12 with the new LR Duplex reticule. Have an in with a factory rep and am trying to find out how much the custom shop would nail us for the Varmit Hunters reticule as I guess they will do anything now on any of those models............. if its too spendy I will just buy the LR Duplex. My question is has anyone had personal hands on experence with this scope????? I looked at the Nikon Buckmaster and even the new Pentax Gamemaster . I have a weird application here as I have the bait for coyotes set accross the river from the house and it is exactly 300yds. I want a scope that I can zero at 200 and hold down on the first dot for the 300yd shot. But wanted better optics than the old Tasco.................. any comments would be interesting as I am going to purchase this week so thanks in advance

6-20 Nikons on a BIG sale at SWFA. Don't know your caliber but a back line hold w/o any dots if zeroed at 200 should be in the boiler room at 300.

I would go with a lower power like a 3-9 or 4-12 for your 77.
