Obviously it fragments and goes everywhere - not something I really care for. There is a reason Nosler made partition bullets which retain their weight and penetrate adequately.  Anything that changes course can have unintended consequences.   I doubt any police agency will authorize these.

Not only fragments but also looks like it over penetrates as well. To me it looks like part of the bullet went clean through the ballistic gel.

Looks like a modified pen grabber.  I will say the old pen grabbers were awesome for what they were designed to do.

Looks like a poorly designed expensive gimmick to me. Here's my issue. The "trocars" break off and radiate outwards penetrating 3.5- 4.5". Sounds great. You know what else penetrates ballistic gel about 3.5"? A steel BB @ 600 feet per second. The last thing I want is to have my bullet be like hitting a bad guy with 6 BB's and a .22lr. unfortunately bad guys aren't made out of ballistic gel. It's a great repeatable test media, but it's not a person. You need to relate the results to real life. There's a reason the FBI says a bullet must penetrate 12" of gel at MINIMUM to be effective. I've fired bullets into gel that penetrated over 24", stop in under 16" when hitting an animal. In my opinion, shedding weight in the first few inches is the opposite of what you want in a self defense bullet.

I won't be running out to stock up on these.

It looks cool, and the fancy video and articulate narration mean it has to be awesome.  And the full auto pistols, holy cow, if a guy that has access to a full auto pistol uses it, he must be operator as f*ck so I should be using the same ammo as him!

Gimmick.

I wouldn't want to be shot with it, don't get me wrong.

They are just too expensive right now to give a proper testing. The principle is sound if your intent is to cause death without possibility of saving the aggressor. Theory being that multiple wound channels will cause bleed out before adequate surgery could be done. As stated earlier, gel is not a reliable comparative. The center mass shot on a person is typically a layer of cloth 2.5 to 4 inches of muscle, fatty tissue, bone (maybe) vital organs including an open air space (lungs) and exit thru muscle, bone and spine. Odds are they would not exit and it probably wouldn't matter as internal bleeding would be extensive. And even with an off center shot the odds are good that the heart would be cut and there would certainly be multiple lung channels and very likely stomach, liver and intestinal wounds. I have chose not to carry them right now due to legal concerns should I be forced to defend. If they are as lethal as suggested it could be implied that your intent was with premeditated malice. Ofcourse that is pre-civil collapse. Post collapse legal concerns will be under martial or UN discretion.......................

Reporting incidents and body count will be individually discretionary.....................Cool

That's my issue. The trocars only penetrate 3-4" in gel. Same as I calibrate gel with a steel BB going 600 fps. Well, if you get hit by a steel BB going 600 fps in the chest, I don't see it causing tremendous damage. My question is, would the "trocars" that are supposed to cause all the damage even get to vital organs to stop a threat?

That's one of the puzzling things. If you set a minimum base standard velocity of 900fps. any bullet configuration from 115 to 240gr should penetrate gel atleast 9 to 14 inches. But that doesn't always hold true in actual gel test. So, are there too many variables in gel mix/consistency? And if you look at the new self defense loads aren't they loading to 1200fps and up. And if so, I would expect gel test to show much deeper and larger wound channels.

The trocars only penetrate 3-4" in gel.

What velocity do they advertise? But, even at actual gel test showing 3-4 inches I suspect penetration on a person would be ideal for termination. Because that much penetration in gel should equal shredding of vitals.

Yes gel tests show 3-4" of penetration. That's my problem. So does a steel BB @600 fps. And I've been hit with a steel BB. It didn't penetrate me 3-4". This is why I say gel is a good consistent media, but doesn't tell the whole story. Even in my own testing I've seen the difference in gel tests and bullets that were recovered from game.
