I believe any recently manufactured rifle should provide reasonable accuracy,  the price seems fair, the only thing that scares me is why it's at a pawn shop. Be careful........

I would be scared of the word "Mossberg" on the barrel, but that's an old grudge.
I really should let it go and get on with my life....

$200 would almost be worth the gamble, if it did not meet your expectations you could re-sale for little to no loss.

I say what he said. But, I did sight one in for someone and it proved to have about 1" of accuracy at 100 yards. I didn't like all the stamped steel parts ,such as trigger and safety.

That particular rifle (I read somewhere) is made for Mossberg by Savage.

I stand corrected, there are some parts, others are made by various contractors. It should be that it shoots well from all I can find on it. The barrel is also easily repalceable just as with the Savage.

There are some parts made by Howa, Savage, and basically it is the Raptor rifle brand that is now defunct, and bought out by Mossberg. The ATRs that I have seen are of the Savage design, and use the Savage Barrel and bolt face. The triggers are the Howa 1500 variety.
If this research is correct it should be a fantastic gun for the price.

You say there is no Barrel nut? There must be some different models here or something.
Yours might be one of the field king types which are virtually the same except that they have no barrel nut and the barrel is a Shaw brand. The bolt would also be different.
Mossbergs website shows the ATR to have a replaceable barrel by the end user, which would be the barrel nut design which is a smooth nut, or friction nut. Interesting, very interesting.

There is no barrel nut Mossberg calles it eccentric washer type recoil lug that sandwiched between the receiver face and barrel shank. Is this moore like a Remington?

That would be the 710 Remmy I believe. This is very strange, although I am still certain of the fact that it will be rather easy to change Barrels. The Remmy in that style was I have heard a pain, and in most cases everything would be replaced. I hope that Mossberg did something different here.

I'm stupid.......What is a "truck gun", used for??? I'd prefer a 45 cal. with 10 in it over a rifle and 2nd choice would be a 12 guage pump.........for protection.  Is a "truck gun" used for something else????????????????Loco

A truck gun to me is a rifle I would rather have a rifle handy because I have hunting land I take care of. I have seen wild dogs and coyotes and with a rifle I am a lot better shot.

A truck gun is one that you carry just in case you get the spur of the moment oportunity to hunt, or to kill a predator. My truck gun is a Savage 7mm mag with a Nikon ProStaff. I also carry a pistol for the two legged predators.
