Putting together another gun ...it's a contender in 223 on an older frame that I use for hand gun barrels... converting to a rifle .24" stainless brl    composite stock and forearm, weaver type base not sure on the scope yet maybe my old 4x12 leup....going to camo the stock like the weatherby vanguard desert camo..waiting on all the parts.... needed  another varmint shooter .  haven't done any projects for a while now, been having that.... ITCH.  Loco

All I can remember is that there is fine print when ever you start mixing handgun frames and rifles.  You can go one direction, but can't go back.

I too have heard this in the case it be handgun to rifle is ok....rifle to handgun is not ....but have never seen this nor can find it.  I am sure it only constitutes in some states..and unless some one did a check on the registry of the gun not really worried to many people I know switch back and forth continuously thats what this gun was intended to do. I think it is more so meant for regular rifle ....bolt actions..ie...doing something like the remington xp.

Well here it is all together going to apply the desert camo paint hopefully this weekend .I'll post pics when done.  Wink

OK as you can see no paint yet. I found the stock did not fit me well, so I added a comb and had to re contour a little bit ....see 1st and 2nd pics of  stock. just the way it goes?

Should give you a quick inline view through the scope plus it looks like would handle recoil good if you were to switch barrels. Kind of a "Weatherby" look t it. GOOD job!

Hey Looney...would you put one on those hot Hornady reloads (as mentioned in my "secret recipe") through you new and improved .223? Go for it! Shoot a fast rope.

Entertaining for sure, good sport on the targets yes, on the critters with skilled hands only,  caliber ??  I would guess 6.5-284/ some type 7mm/or 300

The bear shot was a .338 Lapua I believe.  I seen that vid on long range hunting a while back and I think that is what they said it was.

I think they edited out all of the shots that they couldn't hit an elephant in the a$$ with a snow shovel.   How many deer/bear/whatever did they wound to make that video?  Just my observation.

These guys are long range shooting instructors from Defensive Edge. Rifle used is a custom in .338 Edge. I can't say they didn't edit out all the misses, but I'd guess these guys are pretty good at what they do. I've seen bits & pieces of their classes.
