My reviews always pale in comparison to The Dark Lord's and others here I always felt, but please consider my review (and me) a work in progress...... 

 

  It's nice to  see  the scope mounted on an accurate rifle and tested by a guy who knows how to SHOOT, too.

 

RONK, you asked about and I failed to run a "box test" on this scope my last trip out. I was "on the clock" at this range and had to pay $10.00 an hour to just to shoot there.  

I'll knock that test out next go around at my other range...the FREE one.  

 

 

 

The groups I put up on this thread were from 168gr. SMK's, handloaded, checked for run out, shot off a bench and a Harris "S" Bipod with a rear bag, but were pretty indicative of the groups I shot overall that day.

I'll get the Deuce mounted up on my 16" Middy AR and give it a try with factory .223 ammo. The .223 should be a good match with the circles, I think.

 10 bucks an hour sounds pretty steep, but I guess it really isn't too far out of line from what I hear around the country for commercial range fees.  I just canceled my membership at my favorite range after ten years. $275 bucks a year, plus work days, but last year I went shooting there TWICE. I don't know if I will have any more free time this year, so I had to let it go.

 It's a great place though, plinking range, pistol range, Hi-Power/Palma range to 1200 yards with 22 firing points, 500 meter Silhouette range, and a brand new indoor winter range.

I got to knock down the weeds myself from around the target stands in order to see the paper....   

 Yeah , the people were great, too. I guess the membership fee had a plus side in that it weeded out the goofballs. I left in good standing so if I want to go back someday, I won't have to go through the probationary period of limited, supervised access, etc.

 

Just think of ALL the good folks in your area that will be deprived of your mentor ship on the virtues of shooting "pie plates" if you don't "re up" at your range, Ron....It's not JUST ABOUT YOU, my friend....Think globally for Petes sake, Ron......

 

 

  There are many truly world class shooters at that place, and they taught me far more than I taught most of them! 

 I think I'll just go to the local 'sportsman's club' with the 200 yard rifle range and the $30 annual membership for a few years. Cutting weeds ain't so bad... 

 

First pic is the elevation turret. Kind of ho hum, but I thought someone might wonder. 1/4" clicks.

 

And heres the power ring, which in my opinion, should be a little wider and more knurled. It's a little too "metrosexual" for my liking. 

 

If your using gloves, you may have trouble spinning the power ring. There is a "hump" on the ring that you can grab on too as well, but the power ring is kinda of funky overall.

I "thought" the BDC and the Mil Dots were, because my old Monarch had a etched Mil Dot, but it was illuminated.

Good info, might consider that nikon BDC myself on an AR, shooting 40gr .223. Look forward to results with your Middy.
