Just a quick hello to break the ice   I have been lurking in the back ground for a while now and think it's time I joined this excellent forum

My name is Dean, I'm based in the UK and have recently taken up air rifle shooting/hunting FT/HFT target shooting (phew).

I have a few air rifles, all under 12 ft/lbs with a variety of scope to choose from. I have recently bought an old Leupold Vari-X III (non efr) that's been boosted by premier reticles to 18-40. It's an excellent scope and at the moment I have it mounted on an AirArms Pro-target .177

My only gripe is that there is a cross over between 22-18 yards where there is no full focus. With the 50ft adaptor fitted, the scope will focus from 18 down to 11 yards and no less. Is there a way of getting this lower focus down to 8 yards? I have read somewhere that the front lense arangement is critical to the focusing from 55-10 yards

Also, I have on order a 40x45 leupold competition. Bit late now I know, but what should I be looking for in order to set this scope up to be used for FT ranges? 8-55 yards...

 All the best, Dean.
