So when are the new VX-3's supposed to come on line?  I'm curious if the 4.5-14x40 AO will be available in gloss.  I know that their basically a VX-III with VX-7 glass but if this model comes in gloss, I might have to pick one up.

I've got a bad feeling me not going to likey the new ones.  Really unless it's a massive overhaul it'll be a let down.  THis is their chance to get up to speed.

If they use the VX-7 glass, they will start at about $900

If they put the VX7 glass and kept the same price point, I dare bet a lof of use would be changing our opinions about Leupold.  I looked through a VX7 once and thought the glass looked real good.

My gunshop said the Leupy rep told him it would more of a change than vari x to vx.  Take that with a grain of salt too I suppose.  The reason I'm not expecting much is I don't really like the vx7's.

I'm sure they're good scopes but for the money I'd rather have my Zeiss or Swarovski.  The one I looked through didn't seem enough better than a VX III to cost $1500.  I shouldn't say I don't like them.  I just don't think they're worth the money.

VX-7 scopes are pretty good optically, but not as good as simialrly priced competition.  If Leupold manages to stuff VX-7 quality glass into the new VX-3 and keep the price point more or less the same, I will be buying their scopes.

If Burris can put the quality of glass in their scopes that they do. Then Leupold should have a lot better glass with what they charge.

I'm a fan of Leupold's VX-lll illuminated models.  For the money they're pretty good.  I'm not clear about the introduction date for the new VX-lll models.  There is nothing on their website.  Is it the third Thursday in January?  Shot Show?

VX3 in  reality is a $200.00 scope. If the new VX3 has the VX7 optics it should sell around the current Nikon Monarch prices.

I said once already, that if the VXIII has VX-7 optics it would sell for more like Kahles prices. A 4-12x40 would be about $900
