I just put a 3x12x56 on my new FN A1 308.  The rifle comes with a 20 MOA Badger mount, and has Badger max 50 standard rings.  For some reason the scope won't zero at 100 yards.......The best I can do is 4" low: and this is with the scope bottomed out.  I suspect the scope is way out of adjustment, but can't rule out the rifle.  Both are brand new.  Any ideas?  I thought with the 20 MOA mount I would certainly shoot high to start with and not low?  What do you think?

With the scope bottomed out, I assume you mean with the elevation knob turned down as far as it will go.  The Badger 20moa mount is to give increased elevation beyond that of the internal adjusments of the scope for long distance shots.  Your scope has about 40moa +/- built in internal elevation adjustment.  So, by your description, if your scope was zeroed from the factory, you should have used only one half of your elevation down to get to zero at one hundred yards.  Try two things.  First, check all your mounts and rings and make sure they are secure and everything is in place as it should be and is bore mounted properly.  The later you may want to wait on.  Next,  dial up exactly 4moa and you should be on target.  I this does not work.  Set the scope, back to its zero settings, check everything as I said, bore sight properly, shoot at a target at 50 yards, I mean a large target without any holes.  If you are accurately bore sighted and the scope is at zero, you should be roughly 10 inches high.  50 yards as opposed to 100 yards, that is why 10 inches as opposed to 20 inches.  Now, turn the elevation know down 10 moa and you should cover half the distance when you shoot again.  Do the same, until you are on bullseye and then go to 100 yards.  Good luck.  Let me know how it turns out.  Its a great rifle, scope and set up.  I cannot imagine there is anything wrong with any of them out of the box.

I tried setting the scope back to the factory zero point and then bore sight the rifle.  Same result.  With the scope set a factory zero (middle of adjustment range)  the rifle shoots 12-14" low at 50 yards.  When you adjust the scope to raise the point of impact, you run out of adjustment.  I still can't seem to grasp why this gun shoots low, and not high?  Any more ideas?  I am swapping scopes tonight to see if the scope is the issue.

If your rifle is shooting low, 12 to 14 inches roughly at 50 yard, with the scope set to zero, you would be roughly 20 inches low at 100 yards, which suggests to me that the Badger 20MOA is mounted in the reverse direction.  I do not own a FN rifle or the Badger mount and am not sure this is possible, but mathematically, this seems to be the case.  Check, to see if this is the case and let me know.

There is really no way to reverse the mount.......  I have another rifle with leupold mounts in it, and can't really tell much difference in the mount heights from front to rear....  Does anybody have a 20 MOA mount they can measure for me for comparison?  I am trying a scope swap today to see if this is the issue.

I know this prob. isn't the case, but I'm just throwing something out there in the off chance that it is.  Your in A mode, correct?  Just making sure that for some reason your scopes not in C mode and thus limiting your travel.

On the Kahles C3 there is no mode.......It is not the multizero model.  I did a scope swap this afternoon, and have come to the conclusion that the scope is bad.  My other swarovski scope has huge amounts of up travel left.

The other scope is a 3x12x56mm Swarovski.  Similar scope just about 10 years old.
