Hello all.  My first post here.  I just received my Kahles CL 3-10x50 Multizero off the sample list and I was wondering about something.  There are some areas on the scope, most notably on the angled part of the focus ring and under the eyepiece where there is a waxy substance, which seems like it is filling a hole (large on the focus ring, small under the occular).  Looks like the same stuff that is in the top of the MZ turret.  Just curious as to what this is / does as I have not seen another scope like this before???  Is this something in the construction method that is unique to Kahles or do others use it?

BTW, I spoke to Herman, who is handling Kahles representation in the states now, and lifetime warranty applies to whoever owns the scope, no longer just original owner.  That sealed the deal for me.

Thanks,

benny

My Kahles has the same thing. I think it must be a Kahles thing.

I brought this subject up last year when I purchased a CL 2-7X36. I believe the consensus was that it is some sort of putty used to fill the hole where a set screw is.
