I am new to this site.  I have studied the posts and now I have a question.  I have a 10FP Savage in .223 (will eventually be rebarreld to .243 Ackley).  I mainly Coyote hunt, but hope to prairie dog hunt some day and also get into long range and F-Class shooting.

I have narrowed my choices down to the following based on budget.  I would like to have a scope that looks good on a "tactical" type rifle.  I like mil-dots or other type of aiming devices and variable power.

1)Sightron II 4-16X mildot, target knobs

2) Sightron 6-24X 50mm mildot with side focus.

3) Bushnell 4200 6X24 mil-dot (I hear that adjustment is limited on this) they are also coming out with a side focus???

4) Buckmaster 4X14.5 side focus mil-dots.  I like the looks of the 6X18 but doesn't have mil dots.

5) Mueler 4X16 mil dot

6) Burris fullfield II  4.5 X 14 ballestic plex or 6 X 20 ballestic mil-dot  I have a 4.5 X 14 and it is nice.

Anyother recommendations would be welcomed.  Thanks for your help

Sightron SII 4-16x, w/ mil dots and an AO.

I think my beloved Buckmaster is a little outclassed here.
