Hi, guys just like to say I love the site. I have been lost in greedbay (e-bay) until I found this place.I kinda wish I would of found it sooner though. I am planning on building  an alexander arms 6.5 grendel ar-15 in the future, and as usual I am looking for Optics first. I think I went past the point of no return bidding on a Leupold VX-III 3.5-10x50 illuminated reticle duplex (54912) feel free to bag on me if you think this is a bad choice. I am somewhat concerned about mounting hight and cheek weld aside from the fact I think I should of got a Ziess instead. Anyway I am happy with the last ar-15 I built and with 3.4x elcan I put on it.  While surfing the net for info on scopes a Pecar-Berlin in particular, I stumbled upon this page with a few reviews of scopes I hope no one minds I am including the link here. Hi M223, welcome to the OT !!

I'm pretty new myself, and I'll say , this forum is addictive! I check it a couple times a day.

As for the Pecar, you can't go wrong with it. They're a small company and pay attention to detail. The only downside is if you ever have problems, it is expensive to ship back to Germany, plus dealing with Customs to get it back in-country once the repairs have been made. Would you believe you have to pay a duty based on the value of the repairs- even though you already paid to get it here the 1st time.- Sorry I got off the subject at hand.

I own a couple Pecars that are well over 30 years old and have never experienced trouble with them.

Their line is now serialized to help track in the event of a theft. If a stolen scope ever makes it back to the factory, they destroy it.

 Good Luck!

Derek

Hey ,Derek                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Thanks for the welcome. I got the Monkey on my back tooDead I am finding out that the forum is no substitute for sleep.                                                      Thanks for the info on the Pecar I had not heard of them before and was curious as I saw one listed on ebay for about $300.00 last I checked. I too saw the warning on stolen scopes pretty effective policy both the thief and original owner get to buy a new scope. Looks like a pretty neat setup as you can change out reticles. I am somewhat pleased that someone out bid me on the leup. I was bidding on ,as after much reading and searching  for info.  I finally decided on getting a Nikon Tactical 2.5-10x44. As a side note , the pesky red lines that keep telling me I am a dummy have forced me to keep a dictionary beside the keyboard. I think The red lines seem to be in frequency inversely proportional to hours of sleep lost.                     The sandman is calling. Thanks again!                                                                                                                                                                                                     M223

Thanks for the welcome, C.T.                                                                                                                                                              I just got off the phone with the guys at SWFA they really have some GREAT BARGAINS on their sample list.                                           I am sending  them a M/O for a Nikon 2.5-10x44 tactical.  I know there are better optics out there, but I got a pair of                                    Nikon travellite 9x25 binnocs as gift and was really  impressed with the glass, so I think I'll be happy with this scope.                                  when I get it I'll put up a post in the Tactical posts.                                                                                                                                                Thanks again, M223  Smile

I think you'll be pleased with the Nitac.

And yes, The Sample List is good to go for sure.
