Hello all,

I see it has been about a month since someone has asked ;), so:

Any word on reliabily/overall quality of the new Springfield scopes? Also, what sort of warranty do they come with, and does anyone have any experience in dealing with their warranty folks? I have had my M1A into SA for work, and I was more than happy with the customer service, but I am curious about the scopes. It would ease my mind, trying a 'unproven' scope, if I knew that the warranty was worth more than the paper it was printed on! :)

Thanks,

 Tomislav.

They are made by Hakko in Japan. They have a Life time warranty. Can't really tell you much about the new line we still  have not received them yet. Still new to us as well. If you will go to www.springfield-armory.com you can see there scope there and get the specs on them.

Do you know when in May they will ship? I ordered one at the end of March and am getting itchy to use it.

Are they going to come with the sun shade and flip ups? If I am not mistaken they used to.

OK it is the middle of May. Have you heard any word on when in May they are going to ship? Or has the date been pushed back?

June is closing in fast..... Any word???   I got my Bushmaster Varminter a week ago and she looks bare without any optics on her.  I would hate to have to try and pick another scope after I've got my hopes up for this new SA.  I'm getting the itch to break in my Bushy..........................

Springfield Armory

Its the damnedest thing I've ever heard.  A year and half they say, "soon".  Now they just say, "I don't know".   If anyone is able to get a different answer from them.......please post it.

I gave up, and ordered a SWFA SS 10x42. It has better reviews anyway. I saved a bit of money too.

Well either way I will be in to your store Friday to equip my AR with some goodies.  I hope SA knows how many sales they are losing...

I called SA and they have not even heard when they will be getting them for delivery.  They went into a design change about a year ago (as we all know) and since then no word has been given on when they will have the new ones out.

I had a Springfield Defender in 40S&W that sheared the lugs, under the torque (and it was ramped) I had Champion in an alloy frame that cracked, I had a Springfield CETME that wouldn't eject and traded it back to Springfield for a 3rd. generation 4.5X14  54 scope than had a loose front bell. If I had a hammer Ida ring it in the morning!

Oh and Speaking of Bushmasters,  I got a Carbon 15 in April that would barely shoot 8 inch groups (yes 8 inch and that was handloads) in which the mount was so out of alignment in the vertical it was only possible to center the scope by using beveled shims.

Amen. I am sort of glad those didn't come in, because I now have a SS 10x on my M1a, and couldn't be happier.
