anyone tried the new fusion ammo by federal, been lookin for a new bullet for the '06 they seem to have nice ballistics from what they say on the web site. i used to shoot the winchester failsafe w/moly coating, very accurate and dropped a handfull of deer nice mushrooming and weight retention from what i saw on bullets recovered but discontined due to the possibily of etching,
the all copper triple shock is nice also it shoot very well and accurate, shot 3 boxes, but it seems it does not mushroom much when it gets out there down range, my buddy shot a deer last yr and recovered the bullet about 300yrds shot i believe he said, the petals did peel back but not much. the pics showed a hole thru and thru w/good blood trail, deer went about 50yrds after shot
looking for good expansion and wieght retention. i do not want a drill bit for a bullet down range. have used the bear claw in the past with good results on paper and in the field. any thoughts, will be shooting the fusion in wet paper hopefully next week, will report...be safe |

I've tried the Fusion ammo. Haven't shot many animals with it, but I never could get it to shoot very well in my rifles. Doesn't mean it won't shoot in yours, though. As for good deer bullets, I've had consistently excellent results and great accuracy with the Nosler Accubond bullets in my 7WSM, .300 Win Mag, 7mm-08 and .25-06 -- on deer and hogs.
