i have a new england survior and i called new england firearms about the replacement barrels for it and they said it would take about 6 weeks to fit a barrel to my stock and send it back! i have a .308 now but am looking to get a .223 or a .243! im looking to do shooting and small game hunting! coy dogs! :-)  what do u guys think the best caliber would be? and had anyone had them fit a barrel for you?

I like the .243. Less recoil and the ammunition is easier to find these days. It has been a while since any .308 has been around here.

Man the turn around is alot longer than 6 weeks try about 3 months.<

depends on how much shooting you are going to do??? .223 if you are going to shoot more than 100 rd. a year, or plan on going pdog hunting.  .243 if you want a lighter deer round, or to put the HAMMER to yot's.  its a money thing for me.
