So, I have been looking for some verbage on these scopes and can't find any ANYWHERE...not even directly on the Bushnell website.

What gives on these scopes?

Are they better than the 3200 to the point of being the same thing as the 4200?  Are they lesser than a 4200 but better than a 3200?  Are they the best of both worlds?  Or are they plain crap?!

Who would buy one of these over a 4200 (or even a 3200) until the 4200s are completely sold out, world-wide, when both of them have proven themselves to a LOT of people when there is nothing to read about regarding the new Elites?!

Any insight?

Engineered for the most rugged field conditions, the Bushnell Elite Rifle Scope features Bushnell's exclusive Rainguard HD lens coating that prevents external fogging and moisture from ruining your shot. Other features include 95% light transmission, argon gas purging and resettable windage and elevation adjustments.

Specifications and features:

50" adjustment range at 100 yards
Fast-focus eyepiece
Rainguard HD lens coating
Fully multi-coated lenses

Actually, it sounds VERY similar to the 4200, only somewhat BETTER due to the Ultra Wide Band coating?

eye relief is still short imo though. and thats about the only complaint i have about the 4200 elite. in the same breath ive had that scope on three different magnums over 3yrs and have yet to get smacked.

Sorry man!

While I am at work (VERY fast-paced job), to try and relax my brain a bit every couple hours and keep my sanity, I lean to reading/studying about my hobbies:  Guns/shooting/hunting, etc. and diesel performance related stuff.

I was just curious about the new Elite is all!  Not very much information out there on the streets about them.

Yeah, same as before, but good enough for me.

Look is very similar, too.  It appears to me that what they did was scratch the 3200 line all together to eliminate the cheaper price between them and the 4200 in order to kind of close the gap between their low-end stuff and their higher end stuff in order to force additional revenue.

Yep, they just took the 4200 off the scope and called it "new".

I know...being "hassled" is one of the things that helps keep me from going out of my mind.

I love this site and I live vicariously through all the folks with big bucks to buy scopes that I dream about regularly!  I'll own a Conquest...one of these days!

But seriously, if that Hunter Wicked Optics that I have on my .300 WSM ever starts acting up, I already have funds set aside to put a Conquest on it.  A 3.5-10x44mm w/Rapid Z600.

I feel bad in saying this, but if my dad is too cheap to buy a scope that costs over $75, I'm too cheap to buy him a $350 scope!

The 3.3" eye relief on the 4200, after hearing some of ya'll's testimonies combined with his 7mm mag ended up being one of the things shying me away from putting my 4200 on his gun and buying myself the Conquest.

lets see, ive had mine on a .264win mag, no issues. .300wby mag, no issues ( killed 4 deer with it last season) and the year before that it was on a .375H&H magnum, killed a deer with it as well. no issues. i wouldnt let the 3.3 scare you away.

They have been available for a few months now...I figured by now that at least a FEW of the 14000+ OT members would have bought one and reviewed it!

The thing about short eye relief is that I don't have to be actually smacked by the scope to be affected by it.  Just knowing I could be - hense thinking about getting smacked is a distraction!!  Which is why I like the Conquest so much (and think it's worth the extra $$).  I don't even THINK about it, which IMO leads to better shooting (results)!

The reason I will use Elites and no longer use Leupold on BG rifles is closely related......The expectation of needing Customer Service. If I break a scope prior (close) to hunting season I'll simply buy another. Everybody rants and raves about Leupold's CS and I hear so many stories about it that it tends to concern me. I'll hear 10 CS stories before I hear 1 from Bushnell, Burris, Zeiss, Nikon and we know from a recently posted survey that Leupold is not the number 1 selling scope, nor close. So my point in all this is, the best CS you can have is the one you never need or use.

nb. When you hear Customer Service it really means repair department. Nobody pulls scope off a rifle just out of boredom.

No doubt Leupold has great CS, although I wonder why guys brag so much about a scope breaking or being defective. Puzzled ....
