I am currently using 10x42's and im looking to buy a new pair. I have decided on either Vortex Daimondback 10x50's or 12x50's. (I want to stay under $300).  They both weigh the same and are the same length.

My question is, I want the extra power of the 12x50's but will i be sacrificing to much field of view? I hunt in the high deserts of NM.

I will mainly use a tripod for them but i will do some free hand glassing also.

has anyone else dealt with this issue?

Well, the fov difference in those models is 43 feet.  That is not a whole lot, and off a tripod, the 12x would give you a little more resolution.
