I have the money to buy any binoc I want. I was locked into swarovs, but saw the Bushnell add regarding rainguard. Does it work? Rain and moisture have often caused me problems. What say you, buy the Swarovskis, or something else?

Leica Ultravids, Swarovski EL's, and the Zeiss FL's are the cream of the crop for top notch bino's. Any of the three would be a good choice. I've looked through all of them and really like the Leica's. The Swarovski's have the best body design to fit into the hand. The price is a bit outrageous when compared to the other two though. The leica's just have a slight edge in resolution and overall optical quality. The FL's will have both a sleek design and great optics, but I still feel would be third if you ranked all three. With Leica taking the cake.

The rain guard does work. We're still waiting on our first shipment of these Bushnell's. Will know more once I can get my hands on them, and see exactly what they have to offer. It would be hard to pick a Bushnell over the three bino's already mentioned just because it has rain guard.

Okay! Thanks for the reply, now I dont know what to do though. I can wait untill september 15 to make my choice. Doesnt anybody have any experience with the rainguard thing? I am still leaning towards the swaros.

The biggest problem I see with the Geovids is the electronics are gonna fail long before the bino, so you're stuck, and Leica electronics only have a two year warranty. Even while it might be a little hassle, I'd rather have my rangefinder and bino separate. I look at it like buying one of those all-in-one T.V.'s; guaranteed something will go wrong with the VCR, TV, or DVD, so your stuck....
