I think it's great for the consumer, that we have such a great selection of the ar-15s, I have never owned one, but lately my interest has been growing toward some type of "black gun", Though for some unknown reason i'm steered toward the ruget mini-target? |

I'm working on a project semi auto Remmy, 750 based, in .308. should be interesting. Might be a bust. Never know until you try though.

When house bill hr 1022 was introduced, I bought an Olympic Arms K3B after doing alot of research on the subject. I know I do not know as much about black rifles as DC, but what I did learn is that the company was started in the 1950s and P.O. Ackley was one of the originally owners. All of the parts are made in house, except for the magazine. There is an out of business company here in Wilson, NC that used to make magazines and I have a friend who has given me 5 or 6 polycarbonate near indestructible mags of various sizes. Should be used in Iraq, as they do not get hot and you can run over them with a truck and they do not crush. Also, the military sends alot of their automatic weapons to them for repair. Plus, the price was good. Shoots like a dream. Teamed it up with a Hakko 4x scope with a 223 drop compensator, originally built for the Colts destined for the military. Nice scope also.

Thanks Mark,
It looks like Jim Zumbo had the opposite effect he wanted. Now we have Smith, Remington and Charles Daly, I expect Savage next.

As I understand it, ARs are currently outselling just about everything else by a wide margin. They can't make them fast enough to keep up to demand.

Well, with the polical climate it is now more people are thinking if you want one you had better get one.
Edit Added: If we pull our troops out of Iraq now like some think, we may well need them here too. Edited by Steelbenz - February/08/2008 at 16:57 |
