New antelope rifle is on it's way 22-250. Are all the new model year scopes out yet?

You are asking?  Not going to go with the gold ring VX-6?

What features do you want?

A high plains rifle for 300-400 yard shots. Lightweight is not the most important on this type of hunting for me maybe second or third. Just wondering what is new out there?

Most likely to deal with Wyoming wind.

Wyoming can have some bad wind, but it is no worse than eastern Montana.  Just have to practice shooting in the wind and hills.

I prefer a mil scope for windage for hunting though.  Hold for the wind instead of trying to dial it in.  Especially with speedgoats that see you from a mile away behind a hill.

That is the scope I would go with for a fixed scope.  I love the new mil quad reticle.

If your worried about it, get the SS 10x.  But yes you can shoot at those ranges with a 6x.

If it is a .22-.250 it can shoot tiny low profile varmints way out there so you might think of some variable that goes up to 14 to 20X.

My thoughts on a .22-.250 are 1-8 or 1-9 twist to shoot longer bullets such as 75 gr. Swift (1-8), 65 gr. Sierras, Barnes triple shock bullets that are longer than conventional bullets.

My .22-.250 has a 1-9 twist 24 inch barrel and a 4.5-14X40 Leupold M4 scope and it can shoot 53 VMax's to 68 match bullets. In the works is a 1-8 twist .22-.250 that will get the Leupold 4.5-14X40.

Experience with longer 75 gr .224 bullets shows that they are somewhat better than 87 gr. .243 in the wind. 300 to 400 yd shots should be predictable.

I would think it should be no problem. 6x at 400yds is similar to 67yds with no magnification. I would think you would have no problem shooting an antelope at 67yds with iron sights.
