I recently picked up and old 60 mm spotting scope that only has the name Prominar on it with no other markings or numbers on it.  I'm assuming it's an early Kowa.  Currently it has a 15X fixed eyepiece that screws into the scope body.  Does anyone here know offhand if there are other threaded eyepieces that would work on this scope?  The glass is in great shape and has been well taken care of.  Great view with the 15 X eyepiece, but would like a bit more...25 X maybe???

Any bits of information about this scope would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Scott

You could try a current 20x wide angle or 25x Kowa eyepiece from a company that would take it back if it does not fit your scope. I would try the Kowa 20x wide angle. Maybe it fits, but there is a slim chance for that. Look at the image bellow. Does it look like it would fit into your scopebody?

The scope predates anything like that. Unless there is some type of adaptor that would screw into the scope housing that would allow this type of eyepiece attachment....I don't see how it would work.  The scope's eyepiece is threaded, very simple, nothing fancy or extra, not even a rubber eye cup.
I took some photos of the scope and the eyepiece, but don't know how to post them.
I think I'm bound to use the old style eyepieces that screw directly into the housing, but don't know the correct terminology to ask about them, or have any idea where to look for vintage stuff like this.
I appreciate your response....all of it helps my education.
Thanks
Scott

That converter still has no threads.

sled2live: i would use the scope as it is. You may end up disappointed after spending $300 to fit a new eyepiece on that old scope.

I was hoping someone here might remember who might still make, or
where I might could find some old eyepieces that would work.  Can anyone out here tell me more about "prominar" ???  There is no mention of Kowa on the scope.
Thanks for all of your help so far.
Scott
