After using this scope about everyday this summer, then letting it sit for a month, the turrents got very hard to start turning.
Since I have the Napa grease and o'rings, I'd like to go ahead a change over.

I got the thimble off ok, but I'm sure what to do after that. Thanks.

I would call Chris at SWFA and talk to him about doing this.

SVT,

It is actually very simple. Once the thimble is off, there is one big black O-ring around the top outside of the turrent. Just take it off, clean it, and work some grease into the groove, rub some on the oring and put it back on. I used NAPA 765-1190 dielectric silicone compound.

I did the same thing for the small oring on the center post but just put a little bit on as not to lube the post where the thimble screw tightens up agains. This small one was rather difficult to get pulled up on the post without streching it. It probably isn't necessary to do this one but it helped. Then do the same for the other turrent.

They work a lot better now.
